Quotes from the Interns

"Get ready for the fastest 9 months of your life. By the end you will be taking a big deep breath of relief that you successfully completed a chapter in your life. Having about 9 rotations of all different lengths to get a glimpse of our future as a Registered Dietitian. Completing assignments throughout our rotation, preparing presentations for fellow RD's and getting to work a long side some of our interns can be the easiest way to sum up this internship. Be prepared for an exciting journey in becoming an RD!"
- Jane B. Class of 2016

"This internship pushes you to the limits... in a good way! It is not meant to be easy, but to challenge every one of us so that we use our knowledge and skills to strive to be the best professionals in our field. I am grateful to have spent time with 11 wonderful women who are not only my peers, but people I gladly call friends. It is important to take advantage of this opportunity and make the most of your connections because you never know who you might be talking to, and what impact they may have on your future."
- Lauren A. - Class of 2015

"Throughout this internship I learned more than I ever thought I would about the field of nutrition and also about myself. It is a great experience working with so many different people and getting a much better understanding of what all is available to you within the field. Along with gaining knowledge and understanding about nutrition, you also learn what specialties interests you about nutrition and gain great self confidence."
- Natalie A. - Class of 2009

"One of the most beneficial aspects of the internship was the adjustment factor that was presented when starting a new rotation. We had to adjust all the time because we were exposed to many different faces and environments. The versatility really prepared me for work in the real world and for adjusting on the go."
-Jason S. - Class of 2007

"There were many valuable features to the internship but there are two aspects that I consider very beneficial. The confidence that I gained throughout the internship (gaining a greater knowledge base, public speaking skills, etc) really prepared me to be an RD. Also, I am very grateful for the professional network I built during the internship. The way the program is structured you really have the opportunity to interact with more RD's than I ever imagined! It's always great to meet people and learn from them and this program definitely gives you that opportunity!"

"This Dietetic Internship is an incredible experience covering all aspects of nutrition. It helped me to specialize and find my niche in the field of nutrition. It helps mold the foundation of your future career whether it be managerial, clinical, food services, or preventative. Hard work, but worth it!!!"
- Sarah P. - Class of 2005

"This internship provided me with the opportunity to network with many dietitians working in various settings (food service, clinical, public health and supervisory). It really gives you a clear picture of the many positions and opportunities available to a dietitian. The program also helped me to develop professional skills such as time management, organizational skills, public speaking, and prioritizing tasks/duties."
- Julie M. - Class of 1996

"The Adagio Health (formerly Family Health Council) Internship provided a wide variety of both clinical and community experiences. There was such a wide variety of locations within the program serving a diverse population. The contractual rotation experiences allowed me to gain insight to over 20 contractual sites within the Pittsburgh area. This program exposed me to many different situations people encounter that you hear about on TV or the radio but never come in contact with. It opened my eyes to just how much the people need the community to help and support them. The experience was invaluable."
- Debbie S. - Class of 1993
